BLISS

After the facials
(explains the shiny faces and greasy hair :)
Imagine getting a text from a friend #1 that says, "go check your email RIGHT AWAY! "
how could I not.
The email included the itinerary from friend #2's husband who had set up a getaway in Seattle for the three of us girls...(no prompting at all from friend #2-guess who deserves extra lovin' and treats!!)
all I can say is EVERY MOM needs to do this with her girlie's at least once!
we went here for dinner http://dreams.zinzanni.org/, a fabulous little bakery for breakfast, shopping and one of the highlights that I'm DEFINITELY going to do again was going here, http://www.habitude.com/ ...can I just say AMAZING!!

and to follow it up with a fabuous dinner
http://www.boomnoodle.com/
(if your in Seattle, you have to go check it out, soo good! )
I'm grateful to have such great friends!
lets do it again soon!

pets

The kids have been pretty persistent lately about wanting to get a dog.

seriously, a dog?! I still have a kid in diapers...no thanks

but fortunately for us, we have been having a few of our own "pets" to play with that doesn't involve any cleaning, feeding, cleaning, or vet bills.

meet our new friends, Fluffy and Scruffy (yes the kids named them)

This is my idea of good pets :)

*what you can't see in the picture is the squirrel in the window about two inches from the kids eating crackers and raisins *

Have your cake and eat it too

This morning while I was helping Audrey with her hair, Carson runs up,
"mom come quick Jordan is eating the cake!!"

I go downstairs and sure enough Jordan is very Happily eating the cake.

Oh dear.

mom moment

Yesterday afternoon, the kids and I were running some errands for the father and sons campout and picking things up for Trent to be with the kids all weekend (a post for next week :) )

While we were pulling into Safeway my kids had been talking to eachother, and laughing when I hear Carson say, "hey Audrey, lets play the silent game." - grand idea, I thought-

and then silence......... ahhhh!

only to be broken by Carson, " nahh, that game is boring, lets play something else."

I love my kids!

*A new Knot*

Yesterday Carson learned a new song and a new skill and the song goes something like this,
Build a little teepee,

then go inside....
Close it tight, so we can hide.

Climb over the mountains.....
And around we go......

Here's my arrow......

And here's my Bow!!

Lately I've been feeling incredibly house bound. Every Saturday it's the same thing, "Trent, lets do something fun today. What should we do today?...Where should we go." And we usually think up a few fun things but then something comes up and we can't go and we end up staying at home. Again.

BORING!

So after church on Sunday I was re-stating how we should do something fun, and I think the kids would really like Snoqualmie Falls, we should take the kids up on Saturday.

and Trent replied, " pack up a snack, kids get your shoes we are going for a drive."

and we went, and had a great time, rain and all.

thanks Trent!

in Snoqualmie there is a free railroad museum.. so much fun!

Audrey, very happy to be spending time with her favorite person

*I had to bribe Audrey with gummy bears for this picture*
like I said, she really likes daddy and Trent has been trying really hard to make sure that I'm in some of our family event pictures :) Love that man.

We need to do that kind of thing more often.
:)

Lunch in the Beer Garden

Fun without kids

~Walking around Leavenworth~

*FREEDOM*

(just left the house!)

(13.3 miles later) The only poof I need (Thanks Melissa)

on April16th and 17th (I just found my camera cord-that's why this is late in posting) Trent and I drove off into the sun, to eastern Washington.... without kids.
I know your thinking your really jealous right?
Well don't be too jealous :)
The reason we were heading over the pass for the night wasn't truly for a romantic getaway, it was instead because I had lost it. In January I signed up to run the Wenatchee 1/2 marathon, and started training four times a week, and then the kids got sick so it turned into three times, and then Trent had to work late so it turned into two times and some weeks I was glad to just go on a long run on Saturdays. well after a few months of "training" the time came to set out and thankfully we had my brother and his very soon to be wife staying with the kids so we could go.
we stopped by Leavenworth on the way up and walked around a bunch of fun shops and had lunch in a beer garden of all places. Anyway, we had a great time and the race went really well. and I have to say a GIANT thank you to the friends that were up there as well and that stuck around until I finished. It was fun to have a to have cheering squad while crossing the finish line! and thanks for the picture (as much as no one wants a picture taken after 2 1/2 hours of running, I'm glad I have proof that I did it!)
